What is the Pearson Vue Trick(PVT)? The Pearson Vue Trick enables NCLEX test takers to try to see if they passed before getting official results. At first, you’ll be hesitant to perform the PVT but if you’ve already passed why stress about it? If you did fail you’re going to have to start preparing again and this will jump start process. I have personally failed once and passed my second time around with the PVT working both times.

STEP 1

Take the NCLEX exam and patiently wait about an hour or when you get the after exam email to attempt the trick. Based on emails and classmate’s experiences, four hours after the exam is long enough.

STEP 2

Login to your PearsonVue.com account online and answer the questions about your school and background as you did before.

STEP 3

Enter payment information as if you are paying for the exam again. If you DO NOT want to pay for the exam now simply change the credit card expiration date but put in the real information as I have done- you will not get charged this way!

STEP 4

Verify your information here. This is the moment of truth, you’re going to have click that submit button. For better or worse, its best to get the process started if you fail and to rejoice if you pass (I have been on both sides).

STEP 5

If the screen pops up below with a red triangle exclamation mark symbol stating “Our records indicate you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time” AKA “the good pop-up”, then you can go and enjoy a martini while you wait for your license to be official.

If your credit card is charged or you do not get this message then you probably failed. I got an exam scheduling email and later the official fail notice below. I have heard that some results may not be accurate(check out the survey results & forum) BUT if you’re worried, check out your Contact your state BRN tab for a quick resource.
